FORM AND FORMLESS

24.01—

The NOMINN Series is an ever-changing collection of 3D rendered imagery inspired by our recent projects. These sketches, experiments, remixes, whatever you wish to call them— offer a glimpse behind the scenes and showcase our variable artistic skill set. Our openness and ability to experiment with new formats is part of what shapes our unique skill set at NOMINN.

If you have thoughts or questions regarding this collection, we would love to hear from you. We will be periodically sharing breakdowns and are always open to topic suggestions.

N°13

A quick diorama showcasing a small slice of the environment we built for one of our latest projects, the Little Mod.

N° 12

Who’s ready for summer? Here’s our latest attempt to push Chaos Corona to the limit with multiple layers of caustics, relections, refractions, subsurface scattering— all of that technical stuff we love to geek out on. Needless to say, we were not disappointed.

N° 10 & 11

Some drawings to break the mold— it’s great to branch out from the photorealism world every now and again and get back into something a bit more artistic rather than technical.

N° 09

The Louis Poulsen PH Pendant— one of our personal favorites to sneak into projects when we can.

N° 08

Anyone who’s met us might know that we’re a bit obsessed with rowing. So it’s no surprise that we couldn’t resist the opportunity to place a rower into a recent project of ours and capture some cool product style imagery of it.

N° 07

A fun drawing study for our good friends at Double Jack— both for a change of pace and to keep our Photoshop skills sharp.

N° 06

Our initial tests with Stable Diffusion are getting interesting. Not entirely sure how to feel about it yet but we’re excited to give it a try and see what potential it holds.

We’re planning to publish a detailed breakdown on our JOURNAL soon— stay tuned.

N° 05

Some landscape snapshots from a favorite project of ours where we needed to create a very convincing Texas ranch environment. How did we do?

N° 04

VROOM VROOM. Because what’s a driveway shot without some cars?

N° 03

An entire project dedicated to Jean Prouvé— a dream project for us. We hope to share more soon.

N° 02

Fully rendered caustics— ten years ago we would have said no way would this be possible. Looking forward to more development with this technique.

N° 01

Who doesn’t love a good bonfire— we especially love the way that this Phoenix simulation turned out, although it’s not without it’s steep learning curve.

Check back for more updates soon.
